Join Laura and author Cynthia Reeves at the Gibbs Library in Washington, Maine for a conversation about the novel in stories: How does this genre differ from a traditional novel? What unique benefits does it offer readers? What are some popular examples? How might you approach writing one? Laura will read from Consecration Pond and Cynthia will read from Falling Through the New World, her novel in stories about an Italian American family. This event is free and open to the public. The Poet’s Corner will be hosting a Zoom prose reading with two Maine writers. Both of these collections of linked short stories take place in fictional or actual places in Maine and reveal Maine characters in ways we haven’t seen before.

Laura Bonazzoli, author of Consecration Pond and Morgan Talty, award-winning author of Night of the Living Rez will read from their short story collections and talk about their work with Meg Weston and Audrey Minutolo Le.
